Decimal odds look clean and simple — bet $1 at 1.91, get $1.91 back. But they’re also the easiest way for sportsbooks to hide the juice (also called the "vig").
In American odds (-110), you can instantly see the house is taking a 4.5–5% cut. With decimal odds, that’s disguised — and most bettors don’t question it.
Two outcomes both priced at 1.91 seem fair — but they actually imply a 104.7% market. That’s 4.7% commission. Decimal odds don’t tell you that.
